Your workout data stays yours. Hefty keeps it on your device and, when enabled, in your private iCloud account. We do not sell it, upload your workout database to our servers, or use it for advertising.

THE SHORT VERSION

We cannot see your routines, exercise choices, weights, reps, readiness answers, effort ratings, workout history, or progress database.

We can see privacy-limited product events, such as that a screen was opened or a feature was used.

1. scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Hefty handles information when you use the Hefty mobile application and related website. It applies from the effective date shown above.

2. data stored on your device and iCloud

Hefty stores your routines, exercise selections, set information, weights, repetitions, workout history, readiness responses, effort ratings, progression data, and app preferences in the app’s local database on your device.

When iCloud synchronization is enabled, this database may be stored in and synchronized through your private iCloud account so that it can remain available across your compatible Apple devices. Hefty’s team does not operate a server containing this workout database and cannot browse, retrieve, or sell its contents.

Apple processes data stored in iCloud under the Apple Privacy Policy. Your use of iCloud is also subject to your agreement with Apple and your iCloud settings.

3. limited product analytics

Hefty uses PostHog to understand whether the app is working and which screens, features, and product flows are useful. We send event names such as a screen being viewed, onboarding being completed, a workout being started or finished, or a paywall action occurring.

Analytics events may include basic technical metadata needed to deliver and interpret them, such as an anonymous installation identifier, event time, app version, operating system or device type, and network information used to transmit the event.

We do not intentionally send routine names, exercise names, weights, repetitions, readiness selections, effort ratings, notes, workout history, or other user-created workout content to PostHog. Hefty does not enable PostHog session replay or automatic error capture in the current release.

PostHog processes this limited analytics information on our behalf. You can read the PostHog Privacy Policy.

4. purchases and entitlements

If you purchase a paid Hefty feature, Apple processes the payment through the App Store. Hefty does not receive your full payment-card details.

Hefty uses RevenueCat to retrieve product offerings and determine whether a purchase or entitlement is active. RevenueCat may process an anonymous app-user identifier and purchase, subscription, product, and entitlement information. Hefty does not send workout content to RevenueCat.

For more information, see the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

5. no sale of personal information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not use your workout content for advertising, profiling, or data-broker purposes. Limited analytics and purchase information is shared only with the service providers described above so they can provide those services, or when disclosure is required by law.

6. retention and deletion

Workout data remains on your device and, if enabled, in your iCloud account until you delete it through Hefty, remove the app and its stored data, or manage it through Apple’s iCloud controls. Availability of iCloud backups or synchronized data is controlled by Apple and your settings.

We retain limited analytics and entitlement information only for as long as reasonably necessary to understand product use, operate paid access, meet legal obligations, and protect the service. Retention by Apple, PostHog, and RevenueCat is also governed by their respective policies and service settings.

7. security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information processed through Hefty. No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and you are responsible for protecting access to your device and Apple Account.

8. children

Hefty is not directed to children who are unable to consent to data processing under applicable law. A parent or guardian should supervise a minor’s use of exercise software and any training activity.

9. your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding personal information, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection. Because Hefty does not maintain an account containing your workout database, many workout-data requests can be completed directly on your device or through your Apple Account.

10. changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Hefty’s features, service providers, or legal obligations change. The updated policy will be posted here with a revised effective date. If a change materially affects how workout content is handled, we will provide additional notice where required.

11. contact

Questions or privacy requests can be sent through Hefty’s contact page.

Your use of Hefty is also governed by our Terms of Use.
